Video for 'Like Me' by Bocoming Real feat. Trim

I've been in hibernation, doing some PR work and finishing off articles, I leave everything to the bloody last minute, I apologize!

This year saw Trim work with producers outside of grime, like Mumdance and of course Becoming Real.. even though, to be fair there's a pretty grimey feel to the track, and now the video, have a looky.

Free Cooly G download - 'Cali'

Well, how lovely...

Cooly G - Cali by Hyponik

Watch Jamie Woon's 'Night Air' video

One of favourite tracks this year amongst DJ's has finally got the video treatment. The video is directed by Lorenzo Fonda, and just gives us more of an indication that 2011 could very well be Jamie Woons year, especially with the likes of Burial and Ramadanman on speed dial. Have a look at the video just below..

Details of next Joy Orbison release..

Out of course on his own Doldrums label just before Braiden with DLDRMS 003 ('The Alps). Every J.O release is worth picking up and I doubt this will be any different, got a Detroit feel on it I hear. Also, don't forget to catch him b2b with Ramadanman at XOYO on December 3rd with support from Jam City, Fantastic Mr. Fox and more.

D.O.K - Keep Making Grime

Forthcoming on Butterz, big up the Butterz camp, some gully grime outcast music being released! Fully feeling it...

Talay Riley - Humanoid (Remixes)

I wasn't too up for this tune as a single, and I also didn't know there'd be any worthwhile remixes behind it, but it seems a lot of artists that wouldn't have got the remix treatment last year are getting it now... for Talay Riley's 'Humanoid' single, which is out on Sony now got (for me) two good remixes, Dark Sky with their trademark chord-shaping sound and Tek-One with whats to be expected... Take time out to have a listen, audio for the Dark Sky remix is just below..

Braiden - The Alps (Video)

Soon to be released on Joy Orbison's Doldrums label...The first single from photographer-slash-producer Steve Braiden and a favourite amongst DJ's has now been given a video backdrop in the shape of a somewhat creepy black and white tour around what seems to be a nuclear power plant, have a butchers..

Katy B feat. Ms Dynamite - Lights On (Girl Unit Remix)

With mixed reviews of the Skream remix all over the world wide web, here's another of the official remixes to accompany the (probable) hit single from Katy B and a born again Ms Dynamite. The man behind arguably the biggest hit of 2010 is to blame for this murder on the dancefloor. Check the audio below..

Details on James Blake album

Well, there's not many details out of the bag yet, but what we do know is that it's coming out on his own ATLAS label, which is funded by a label, it hits the shelves and e-shelves on February 7th and is "probably self-titled". I'm sure the artwork is soon to follow, watch this space.

Shackleton launches new label

"We’d known it was coming for some time, but the cat is now officially out of the bag: Shackleton is launching a new label focussed on his own productions. Its name? Woe To The Septic Heart.
The first 12″ to see release through this imprint is Man On A String Part 1 and 2, officially released next week. The A-side is given over to the two tracks which makle up the titular composition, both the kind of dense, tribal steppers with pronounced techno flavour that have characterised the producer’s recent live sets and imminent Fabric 55 CD. On the B-side you get ‘Bastard Spirit’, a track every bit as menacing and mischievous as its name suggests; with its warring marimba lines and low-slung, almost hip-hop-style groove, it’s the most immediately engaging thing on the EP.
According to an interview with Shackleton in the December 2010 issue of The Wire, out now, Man On A String Part 1 and 2 was mastered in Berlin in collaboration with renowned engineer Rashad Becker, who also added some discreet production touches to the tracks. The same interview confirms that Shackleton is also working on new material with his longtime friend and collaborator Vengeance Tenfold (who you may remember as the voice on classic Shack tracks ‘Death Is Not Final’ and ‘The Rope Tightens’). This spoken word-oriented project is called Refugees Of The Septic Heart.
Man On A String Part 1 and 2 is officially released next week, though you can pre-order and listen to clips now. The 12″‘s full colour artwork – brought to life in the above picture courtesy of Boomkat – is by Zeke Clough, who was also responsible for the visual identity of Skull Disco."

Video from Club to Club festival

It all looks immense to be honest, the whole setting and the feel to it. Anything Burial-ish doesn't sound at home in a rave, but in this theatre like setting it was in the zone! Not that I was there or anything, but yea... it seemed great. Not to forget the likes of Joy Orbison and Four Tet playing killer sets, which are also on this video... But for all of the "Kode9 plays Burial" hungry hunters, skip to 4:48 (don't skip though)!
